Lab-Scale Demonstration of Static Granular Bed Reactor Digestion of Primary and Secondary Sludge

WEFTEC 2018 Technical Exhibition and Conference

Morial Convention Center
New Orleans, LA

September 29, 2018 – October 03, 2018

The objective of this study was to demonstrate the feasibility of a lab scale Static Granular Bed Reactor (SGBR) system to digest a mixture of primary and secondary sludge. The SGBR was developed at Iowa State University and is a single tank filled with a dense bed of anaerobic granules. Wastewater flows through this dense bed of anaerobic granules where bacteria transform organic matter to biogas via anaerobic digestion.

The presentation is from 4:30 – 5:00 PM on Wednesday, October 3rd in Room 350.
